About the role
There is an exciting opportunity within the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service for a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Horsham campus! With negotiable commencement date, this opportunity is a full-time permanent role however we encourage part time applicants. This role will be required to travel and work across the entire Grampians region including Horsham, Ararat, Ballarat and the Grampians region. The Mental Health Clinician is an integral part of the Community Mental Health service and may be scheduled to work in any Community Team. The Mental Health Clinician works a roster in accordance with service requirements. This may include working outside of normal business hours (8.30 – 5.00) from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify the child’s clinical presentation, family needs and/or referral options.
* Develop, administer, implement and review clinical treatment plans that target identified biological, psychological, and social needs of people and their families.
* Complete regular risk assessments and risk management planning/crisis assessment.
* Clinically manage a caseload within a multidisciplinary team that emphasises, practices and continually seeks to improve client-centred, trauma informed, family-inclusive, community based, evidence-based and best practices.
* To actively and effectively work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the generic and discipline specific clinical expertise of that multidisciplinary team.
Skills and experience
* You must be able to meet relevant EBA requirements for a mental health clinician in your discipline (Psychologist, OT, Social Worker, RPN).
* Registration with AHPRA or AASW (for social workers- desirable).
* Relevant experience in and an ongoing commitment to the delivery of evidence-based, family inclusive interventions for infants and children in high-risk categories who experience significant mental health concerns.
* Demonstrated proficiency in the application of knowledge in current evidence-based treatment practices and approaches.
