Base pay rangeA$115,824.00/yr - A$127,647.00/yr
The Opportunity As the Senior Planning Project Officer, you will work within multidisciplinary teams, assisting the Principal Strategic Planner and managing discrete projects relating to the strategic planning, implementation, and development of maritime infrastructure. You will support the Department's functions by providing project leadership across planning frameworks, masterplan investigations, and development approvals.
This position is also responsible for providing advice and managing the Department's statutory planning obligations as they relate to state infrastructure. This includes monitoring and reviewing scheme amendments, state planning policy, and third-party development proposals.
You will work with Harbour Managers and the Department's Coastal Facilities branch to advance strategic planning projects on maritime property or support proposals by private leaseholders on the Department's vested land.

About youBackground in Urban and Regional Planning and/or relevant equivalent professional experience.Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.Considerable experience in managing projects relating to strategic planning or development areas. Experience and/or knowledge of infrastructure projects is highly desirable.Experience in assessing, advising, and making recommendations on development proposals and land use planning frameworks, including structure/precinct plans, scheme amendments, and state planning policy.Experience in scoping and supervising consultancy and contract services.You will be a strategic thinker with highly developed research, analytical, and evaluation skills.You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.Applications for this role close on 4 April, 2025, at 3pm.
