Marketing & Graphic Design Officer - UQP Apply locations Long Pocket time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id R-44434 University of Queensland Press (UQP) Full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to June 2026 Base salary will be in the range $78,944 - $87,750 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5) Based at Long Pocket About This Opportunity The University of Queensland Press (UQP) is seeking a creative, organised and enthusiastic Marketing and Graphic Design Officer to join their team for a parental leave cover contract commencing in late January 2025. In this role, you will provide marketing and administrative support to the Marketing and Publicity team with a particular focus on Marketing and Sales, with graphic design support across the team. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Providing high-level administrative support, including reconciling payments, managing communications, compiling media clippings, and record-keeping. Overseeing digital outreach on behalf of UQP, including digital advertising, social media graphics, website content, and EDMs, plus coordinating freelancers as needed. Designing and producing print-ready marketing materials and templates to promote UQP titles and brand. Creating presentations and formal documents for external stakeholders promoting UQP, supporting production tasks, and coordinating with Publishers on jacket concepts and designs. Coordinating author events and travel, representing UQP at events when required. Updating and maintaining the UQP website in partnership with external contractors. Refreshing UQP graphic design elements for internal and external stakeholders, including UQP Bookstore assets. Providing guidance and software training to interns and junior team members. About You Completion of a relevant degree OR completion of an advanced diploma qualification and at least (2) years relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated experience in graphic design, the print industry, both digital and offset. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills combined with excellent written and verbal communication. Intermediate to advanced skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Mailchimp, the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat). Quality creative skills. Energy and initiative to work independently where required, while practicing effective decision-making. Passion for books and reading.
