As an AWS Cloud Senior Architect, you will be a key player in a project focused on AWS Cloud optimization, automation, and security posture improvements. You will leverage your expertise in AWS Cloud Infrastructure to enhance security, optimize the cloud environment, and automate cloud infrastructure management for our client, a 3rd level university.
Your new role
Review and analyze AWS security recommendations, implementing relevant solutions. Engage in cloud optimization activities such as defining server operating hours, managing AWS account lifecycle, improving server build requests, enhancing CMDB updates, tagging, and automation. Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures. Analyze the AWS environment for Lambda functions and databases, proposing improvement plans. Collaborate closely with Cloud operations, Cloud automation, and application teams on optimization activities. Prepare and present solutions to the Architecture Review Board and Cyber Governance Review. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of developed services. What you'll need to succeed
5+ years of experience in managing and administering AWS environments. Deep understanding of cloud computing principles and AWS security practices. Strong knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Expertise in managing various AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, NSG, Load Balancers, Firewall, IAM, Security Groups, and more. Hands-on experience with AWS services development, troubleshooting, and fixes. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and Python for automating cloud infrastructure management tasks. Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) by default. Understanding of DevOps methodology and related tools. Solid understanding of security frameworks. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex issues quickly. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of AWS Service Management Connector (nice to have). What you'll get in return
