Job Title: Project Officer - Building Code & Fire Safety Maintenance | Start: ASAP pending clearance of pre-employment checks End: 30/06/2025 Rate: $66.27 P/H + Super Location: 4PSQ, this role is associated with both office and field work across the state.
Attendance in office and field will be dependent on the business requirement.

Hours P/W: 35 Primary Purpose of the Role: The Project Officer will contribute to the development and delivery of housing-related projects within Gov Department NSW by providing project management support.
This role focuses on the influx of acquisition and upgrade projects, ensuring that objectives are met within the set timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
The officer will assist in monitoring project plans, preparing documentation, and conducting audits to support project success.
Specific Focus: This position requires particular knowledge and experience in building codes and fire safety maintenance, with a focus on ensuring compliance with relevant standards, including AS1851 .
The role involves supporting housing projects that require fi re safety audits, compliance monitoring, and ensuring building codes are met during acquisition and upgrade activities.
Key Accountabilities: Provide a wide range of project management and support services, including preparing reports, briefs, and maintaining project documentation.
Implement and monitor project plans to ensure objectives are met on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Prepare and maintain documentation for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information.
Communicate with key stakeholders, including coordinating working groups, committees, and consultations to facilitate information exchange and project completion.
Source, collate, and compile data and information to track project progress, identify emerging issues, and report on milestones and deliverables.
Undertake research and analysis, preparing project briefs to support informed decision-making and planning.
Key Challenges: Managing competing priorities and tight deadlines while delivering project management and support services.
Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders given competing demands and expectations.
Role Dimensions: Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with quality standards and agreed scope.
The role requires decision-making within the scope of the project, with some delegations subject to guidelines and policy procedures.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements: Project/Program administration experience within Fire safety industry .
Knowledge of Fire safety systems and maintenance requirement as per AS1851 Advanced MS excel, Outlook, data management and reporting skills.
Current Driver's License and willing to carry out on-site inspection 3-4 days/week Familiarity with monitoring and reporting project progress, identifying risks, and making recommendations to mitigate potential issues Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure project success.
