Jilbup Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Officer to join their foundation administration team.
Working in a brand new primary school presents unique challenges that require a particular skillset and outlook. As the front face of the school the personal qualities that you bring to the role will be of the utmost importance.
The successful applicant will help to create a warm and welcoming environment by building positive relationships with students, families, colleagues and the wider community. We are seeking someone with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change using their initiative, flexibility and problem-solving skills whilst helping to create an environment of outstanding customer service and high-level administrative support.
We are seeking applicants who possess strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Possible duties may include Enrolments, Accounts Payable (EFT and NAB purchase cards), RM Billing, HR/Relief or other duties as directed by the Manager Corporate Services.
The successful applicant will ideally be self-motivated and able to display their ability to, work autonomously, produce work of a high standard and importantly, work collaboratively and calmly in a fast-paced work environment. Applicants with school financial experience and HR/relief experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience in the use of computers and a wide range of application software packages in particular Schools Information Systems (SIS), Compass, Reporting to Parents, RM Billing, RM Finance, Records Management and Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), spreadsheets and word processing will be highly regarded.
Located in Hammond Park, Jilbup PS is a new school opening in 2024, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The new school will include an administration block, early childhood teaching block, teaching blocks with general learning areas, inclusive education room and specialist rooms for art and science. It will also be equipped with a library, covered assembly area, music room, oval and hard courts.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
1. Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
2. Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
3. Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
4. Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
5. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
