We are seeking applications for a Manager, Urban Development Services. This key senior leadership position plays a critical role in providing services that support the growth of the ACT. The role has primary responsibility for managing services and guidance for the development industry, balancing support for growth in the ACT, with long-term asset management and network protection impacts for Icon Water and the broader community. Icon Water Limited (Icon Water) is an unlisted public company that is wholly owned by the ACT Government.
About your new role Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary Branch to ensure all activities are timely and meet agreed standards and procedures. Lead the identification and strategic delivery of improvement initiatives for services and end-to-end processes for the development and building sectors. Provide guidance and advice to the Icon Water Executive and the Managing Director on critical or strategic matters that could impact on the organisation's key risks or business plans. Provide professional guidance to developers and negotiate resolutions on escalated and complex development matters. Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory and legal changes, and emerging risks and implement process improvements and adjust activities as required. Manage teams that oversee the delivery of complex developer-initiated projects including bringing together cross-business stakeholders to evaluate proposals and delivery methodologies. Develop a safe, commercial and customer centric culture within the Branch. Our ideal candidate will possess: Relevant tertiary qualifications preferably in Engineering or substantial demonstrated experience leading in technical engineering environment. Significant experience in construction, development or utility sectors. Significant experience in influencing and communicating at all levels of management in a complex, collaborative and technical service-driven organisation. Substantial experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, building solid working relationships with staff and encouraging, coaching their performance. Experience in preparing and presenting complex business issues and information combined with the ability to engage and influence a diverse set of stakeholders. Experience in Asset Management and an understanding of relevant standards and legislation and their application. Demonstrated understanding of financial management approaches and commercial outcomes. Experience in building a safety, quality and service focused culture including knowledge and commitment to relevant legislation, regulations, obligations and requirements. Does this sound like you?
