The SSSA will also assist with implementing QBI's safety management plan, inductions, maintaining standard laboratory operating procedures and risk assessments, coordinating OH&S audits, and general building service tasks like equipment movement and lab relocations.Key responsibilities will include:Manage QBI scientific equipment and asset register, safety equipment compliance, equipment database, lab management projects, chemical storage and inventory, and liquid nitrogen facility maintenance.Facilitate helpdesk requests, ensure shipping and courier adherence to IATA Guidelines, and assist with infrastructure requirements for new staff and equipment.Manage safety and training requirements for hazardous areas, internal laboratory inspections, local safety training systems, standard operating procedures, risk assessments, and assist with the QBI Safety Management and Contingency Plans, including development of procedures.Assist the OH&S Manager with inductions and training, perform floor/laboratory inductions, assist research staff with documentation, monitor compliance with OH&S systems and legislation, and occasionally work after hours, including weekends.Exercise 'Supervisor' level leadership and management responsibilities in accordance with the UQ Leadership Framework, including training, supervising, and developing more junior team members.Supervise and contribute to the effective and efficient management of research and teaching programs, including providing training for the use of specialised equipment, preparation of risk assessments, and chemical storage.About UQAs part of the UQ community, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world.Everyone here has a role to play.
