Job Title: Senior Payroll Officer
Reporting to the Team Leader Payroll, the Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for supporting efficient and accurate payroll processes, data, and reporting. They will also maintain employee master data.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure payroll processes adhere to best practices, delivering timely and accurate outcomes with high customer service standards.
* Act as a specialist payroll support officer and leader to enhance payroll team effectiveness and capability under the guidance of the Team Leader Payroll.
* Conduct fortnightly pay runs in compliance with documented payroll processes to achieve targeted cycle times and payroll accuracy while meeting council obligations.
* Maintain data integrity and accuracy of employee and salary data, records, and employee master data.
* Implement efficient processes for timesheet and leave processing to ensure correct and timely staff payments.
* Oversee completion of workers' compensation schedules and process accurate payments.
* Review and address payroll exception reports after data entry to support accurate staff payments.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of payroll experience.
* Familiarity with SAP or similar HR and Payroll systems, including maintenance of employee payroll master data, reporting, payroll compliance, and risk management.
* Experience in managing end-to-end payroll processing.
* Knowledge of industrial awards interpretation and application.
* Proficiency in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office products.
* Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
* Capacity to meet deadlines and solve problems.
* General understanding of financial processes related to payroll principles.
