AIE Institute is looking for a part time Librarian.
This position will provide strategic leadership and operational management of the AIE Institute library.
The Librarian will be responsible for establishing/maintaining the campus libraries in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide, and ordering, receiving, cataloguing and processing items for the collection.
The Librarian will provide online and on-campus library resources necessary to support teaching and learning of students and the scholarship of academic staff.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to support students and staff at AIE Institute Develop collaborative approaches to work with stakeholders Ensure library services (both online and on-campus) are suitable for students and the ongoing scholarship of academic staff Managing the library budget effectively Undertake routine library duties and operational management of library services Provide new students with a library and library systems orientation session Support students with training for academic research and referencing within a library context Establish and foster efficient workflows and relationships with vendors and library service providers Advise the Academic Director and AIE Institute governing committees as required to ensure currency and excellence in provision of library services Understand, comply with and apply relevant policies and any relevant activities or processes Undertake any other duties as determined by the Academic Director.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
Relevant tertiary qualifications to be eligible for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Proven ability in delivering library and information management services within the higher education context Demonstrated customer service skills in a higher education library environment Knowledge of contemporary library services within the higher education context Commitment to supporting diversity and equity Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and to work autonomously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Postgraduate qualification in the discipline area or related field Knowledge or experience in the provision of library services for game development studies and/or the sub-disciplines of game programming, game art and game design Proven ability in establishing and maintaining external relationships with industry or professional associations.
