Role Summary The Wind Engineer will play a critical role in the design, analysis, and optimisation of wind energy projects. This position requires expertise in wind turbine technology, site assessment, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical knowledge to support the successful implementation of wind projects and contribute to the company's commitment to sustainable energy. Primary Responsibilities Project Development: Contribute to the design and optimisation of wind energy projects from concept through execution, ensuring adherence to technical standards and best practices. Site Assessment: Conduct site assessments and wind resource evaluations to determine optimal locations for wind turbines, utilising advanced modelling tools. Performance Analysis: Analyse wind turbine performance data to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and enhance overall project efficiency. Technical Support: Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of wind projects, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and environmental specialists, to align engineering efforts with project objectives. Qualifications and Experience Experience: 5 years of experience in wind engineering or renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind turbine technology and project development. Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or renewable energy) or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of wind turbine design, aerodynamics, and energy production modelling. Proficiency in software tools for wind resource assessment and performance analysis, including WindPRO, WAsP, Windfarmer, Windfarmer Analyst, WindSim, Windographer, and MATLAB. Professional Competencies: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex technical data. Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
