About the Program
A key recommendation from the Royal Commission emphasised the crucial role of families and carers in not only caring for their loved ones, but also in the overall functioning and sustainability of the mental health system.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centers (MHWBC) will form a vital component of the integrated services provided in the reformed Mental Health and Wellbeing system in Victoria.
Services will be provided primarily by a team of individuals with personal experience as carers, and will offer support to families, carers, kin, and supporters of individuals facing mental health challenges, psychological distress, mental illness, or substance use concerns.
About the role

As our new Carer and Community Engagement Worker, your role will see you engaging and empowering people in your community, including hard-to-reach cohorts, to ensure equitable access for all people in the community to local services. With the support of the Program Coordinator, you will also be engaging with community leaders and a broad range of health, social and community services to co-design community capacity initiatives and to identify and respond to psychological distress and to promote ways of maintaining social and emotional wellbeing.
