About your opportunity:
This community based senior leadership position is responsible for the delivery of high-level Allied Health services as a member of a multidisciplinary team that facilitates the recovery and rehabilitation of Youth with mental illness, also supporting consumers to take ownership and develop personal strategies that allow them to rebuild their capacity and achieve greater belonging within their community.
About your role:
Deliver high level Allied Health services which include assessment, treatment, education and evidence-based interventions in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
Apply professional judgement to a complex and varied caseload working to full scope for youth mental health consumers with complex medical and social issues, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence in line with health service policies.
Identify, initiate and lead the implementation and evaluation of quality improvement activities that enhance service delivery, support the continuum of care and where possible, contribute to the development of evidence based approaches within Allied Health.
Utilise high level Psychology/Social Work or Occupational Therapy clinical skills to identify and contribute to evidence based clinical practice and the development of procedures and methods to improve the delivery of Allied Health services, with a focus on youth mental health.
Enhance clinical practice knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within a team environment and facilitating, when required, professional development activities.
Provide advice to the senior management on Allied Health interventions and strategies for youth mental health consumers within Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.
Utilise highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to develop professional and multidisciplinary partnerships to achieve quality clinical service outcomes, applying conflict resolution and negotiation skills where necessary.
