Registered Nurse - Unit Manager RN2 or RN3 (Parttime Considered)

Experience working in aged care is not essential; we will provide you with support and mentoring to assist you to acclimatise to our team. This is a happy, friendly, and supportive workplace operating in a homelike environment.
The successful candidate will have access to a fully furnished 1 bedroom unit for up to six months - RENT FREE. A further six months use of the unit will be available to rent for $220 per week if requested. Reasonable support towards relocation expenses will also be paid.
The Home will pay new Part-time and Fulltime RNs a $10,000 sign-on bonus for fulltime RNs (adjusted on a pro-rata basis according to actual part-time contract hours) after completion of induction and a further $5,000 (again pro-rata) will be paid six months after commencement - conditions apply.
We are a Public Benevolent Institution, so our employees can salary sacrifice up to $15,899 per annum TAX FREE, each FBT year. If you are moving from a metropolitan area, other salary packaging benefits may be available such as a Remote Area Benefit for Salary Sacrifice (see ATO website) and an entertainment card which is another $2,650 per annum TAX FREE.

Pioneer Village, operated by the Eyre Peninsula Old Folks Home Inc, is located in picturesque Port Lincoln with a wonderful and relaxed country lifestyle. We are a community-based 74-bed residential aged care facility situated at the southern tip of Eyre Peninsula in Port Lincoln, South Australia. As a primary provider of residential care and dementia services for the aged of the Southern Eyre Peninsula, we provide quality care and services to our clients in a manner that maintains and respects their individuality and dignity.
The Role
The Unit Manager (RN2 or RN3 depending on what you bring to the role) will lead the provision and planning of clinical care for Residents who reside in their allocated wings. They will provide guidance and support to the team of carers and nurses, ensuring efficient and effective workflow as per organisational systems. Support the Director of Care with clinical data management and the wider clinical team as required. Work with professionalism and ensure all care is provided in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and organisational policies and procedures.
Although anticipated as fulltime, part-time will be considered.
Duties
* Direct clinical supervision and support to the care, nursing, and lifestyle teams to deliver quality resident care, always maintaining their privacy & dignity.
* Assisting individual residents to make informed decisions.
* Promote independence in activities of daily living.
* Maintain safety of residents and staff during all interventions.
* Support and implement the philosophy, objectives and policies of Pioneer Village, having knowledge of contents of policy and procedure manuals.
* Monitor task list and alerts on iCare for completion daily.
* Ensure that all databases are maintained in an accurate & timely manner.
* Review each resident’s charting.
* Review and maintain the care plan update log.
* Review wound management plans, monitoring wound conditions and prescribing variations to wound treatment plans, as appropriate.
Skills and Experience
* Current Practicing Certificate and Registered as an RN with AHPRA.
* Must have attention to detail and confidence communicating expectations.
* Must be proficient in the use of computer-based systems and the recording of findings accurately and in a timely manner.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Have an understanding of quality compliance systems.
* Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
* Knowledge of aged care or health systems.
* Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
* Have a working knowledge, understanding of AN-ACC funding instruments and support the AN-ACC nurse with any assessments or claims as required.
