Full Time Cook $74,000 - $80,000 + Superannuation contribution Wallerawang Community & Sports Club MacKenzie Street, Wallerawang, NSW 2845. Wallerawang Community & Sports Club prides itself on being a modern, innovative and family orientated community club that provides a number of services, facilities and events for the whole family to enjoy. We are locally owned and run with over 500 members and growing.
This club is a fantastic venue for your upcoming function, you may participate in a number of bowling options, have a delicious home cooked meal in our dining room, enjoy a BBQ in our outdoor entertaining area and, simply catch up with friends, seven days a week. A position for Cook is required for the Wallerawang Community & Sports Club. As a Cook, the role is responsible for assisting in the preparation, production and presentation of all food items at the Venue, ensuring that it is of a standard consistent with our brand.
DUTIES:
* To play a key role in the consistent delivery of high-end restaurant quality food
* Create and prepare all food items as required by the business
* Ensure food is prepared and produced on time
* Preparing and cooking food
* Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
* Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
* Seasoning food during cooking
* Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
* Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
* Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
* Planning menus and estimating food requirements
* Training other kitchen staff and apprentices
* Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
* Ensuring all kitchens have regulatory compliance with relevant laws and that systems and training are adhered to – including but not limited to OH&S and hygiene regulations
* Having positive and ongoing communication with other areas and staff to ensure a seamless operation to your responsibilities and service to our customers
* Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
* Discussing food preparation issues with Head Chef
* Ensuring wastage is minimised
* Assisting in the control of stock levels
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* The position will require flexible hours of work, including weekends and public holidays.
REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
* At least a Certificate III in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum 2 years' employment experience (post Apprenticeship/Qualification) in a similar role with experience in a variety of hospitality venues.
* Great organisational skills with an acute attention to detail.
* Must possess work rights in Australia full time.
* Experience in operating a food & beverage venue / kitchen in strict accordance with legislation in relation to safe food handling and WHS.
* Works willingly as part of the team to ensure services are of a high standard.
* Has a positive, professional attitude.
* Punctual, organised and trustworthy.
