Our Client, Morton General Welding Pty Ltd, are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join their team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in various welding techniques and able to perform a wide range of onsite and yard-based welding and fabrication tasks. This role will include specialised welding procedures, mechanical maintenance, machine assembly, and more, all supported by fully equipped service trucks. The position also involves sandblasting and painting of machinery, vehicle components, and domestic equipment such as box trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform onsite welding and fabrication tasks, specializing in procedure welding for various project requirements.
* Conduct mechanical maintenance, machine assembly, relocation, and major overhauls.
* Execute maintenance shutdowns and condition monitoring, providing expert advice as needed.
* Use service trucks to provide on-site welding and fabrication services efficiently and safely.
* Perform light and heavy fabrication, welding, and maintenance at our local yard.
* Conduct sandblasting and painting of machinery and vehicle components, as well as domestic equipment such as box trailers.
* Ensure all tasks are completed following safety protocols and quality standards.
* Maintain and repair washers and other machinery as part of regular maintenance schedules.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Welder with a background in both onsite and workshop-based welding and fabrication.
* Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine assembly and maintenance processes.
* Experience with sandblasting and painting techniques for machinery and vehicle components.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
* Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of onsite safety practices.
Desired Skills:
* Certification in Welding or Fabrication (Certificate III or similar).
* Experience with condition monitoring and maintenance advice.
* Knowledge of light and heavy fabrication processes.
* Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
