Training covers both on-the-job and TAFE classroom-based learning.
It is a requirement of the role that you successfully complete all training and assessments across a range of learning modules throughout this time.About the roleApprentice Mechanical Fitters will perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on regional rollingstock, working closely with mechanical and electrical tradespeople.Your responsibilities:Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and legislative policies.Under guidance, assist with and participate in the construction, maintenance, and installation of equipment and systems in accordance with business needs.Proactively seek opportunities to develop trade skills and knowledge.Follow any guidance required to ensure work is performed in accordance with safety, technical, and operational specifications and standards.Maintain records relating to asset condition, maintenance programs, and costing systems.Actively participate in team and safety meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives.Participate in the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of assuring and continuously improving quality.Meet obligations contained in Apprentice Training Contract, including but not limited to attending block training and completing E profiles/on-the-job log books in a timely manner.About youTo be successful in gaining an apprenticeship with Queensland Rail, you will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn and a passion for the trade.
The ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions with a commitment to safety at all times is essential.Remuneration & Employment TypeThis is a fixed-term position.
