In this role, you will partner with your colleagues on a variety of complex greenfield and brownfield structural and multi-discipline projects in the public and private sectors, across an extensive regional client portfolio. Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Responsible for delivering a variety of design packages, as well as technical and engineering aspects of major or complex projects. Draws on technical knowledge and experience to independently develop the most effective solutions for less routine engineering problems. Takes on the role of Project Manager for smaller or routine projects, leading project meetings and managing client interactions. Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a project team including allocating and checking work and providing feedback on performance. Coordinates activities with colleagues and team members to meet deadlines and achieve set targets in the most effective and efficient way. Ensures junior team members are adhering to delivery standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own industry. Provides recommendations on resourcing (people) requirements for specific projects to more senior team members. Leads the development and submission of proposals for routine, low-risk projects and contributes to the development of proposals for moderately complex projects. Develops business by maintaining client relationships and ensuring client loyalty and repeat work through excellent customer service and delivery. What you will bring to the team: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng). Knowledge of design in common building materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry. Experience of working within a 3D design environment is essential and an ability to work to BIM protocols would be desirable. Passion for design documentation, assessment, and analysis of technical data and imparting knowledge, skills, and experience through the provision of professional development in others. Excellent project management skills and ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers. Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Code and Standards. Strong communication skills both oral and written (including report writing). Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget. The capability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, and drafting briefs and mark-ups. Competent in the use of structural analysis and design software SPACE GASS, ETABS, RAM Concept, ROBOT etc. Exposure to software such as Grasshopper and Rhino is desirable. Interested? Apply now.
