Our Head Office is based in Mayfield West, NSW and we are seeking the following roles for a full-time position in multiple areas: Gladstone QLD, Newcastle NSW, Port Kembla NSW, Dampier WA, Cape Lambert WA, Port Hedland WA, Ashburton WA. Roles and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of these positions include coordinating ship's berthing and loading, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on conditions of ships and goods and ensuring all marine standards are upheld and adhered to. Specific duties include: Controlling, overseeing and coordinating ship's berthing and loading operation, organizing ship's shifting requirements where required. Supervision of vessel operations to ensure safe and efficient operations and reporting any unsafe operations and/or damage. Optimizing vessel operations to ensure the secure and efficient loading and transport of cargo. Draft surveys including intermediate and final surveys, plus trimming of vessel, load plan preparation and loading to designated critical criteria. Additional surveys including on hire condition, bunker, P&I surveys. Establishing, checking and maintaining the Load Plans to ensure outcomes within pre-designated criteria including safety such as DUKC requirements and cargo criteria. Reviewing and reporting on operations after loading is completed and providing suggestions on ways to improve the process. Ships Engineer/Marine Engineer Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of this position include providing technical leadership in relation to the design, construction and maintenance of marine vessels and their component parts. Specific duties include: Inspecting and developing marine construction and evaluating metrics such as stability, weight, and hydrostatics. Creating blueprints and designing engines and marine systems. Conducting inspections and surveys and recording specifications to ensure marine plant and equipment is operating effectively and ensuring all standards are met. Documenting requirements, instructions, material specifications, and troubleshooting guides. Monitoring logs, data, and user feedback to identify trends and improve designs. Planning and coordinating the operational and maintenance requirements of the vessel. Skills, Qualifications and Experience: The following is required: Master Mariner Unlimited License or Marine Chief Engineer qualification (Licensing Class I Master Mariners or Class I Marine Engineers – Certificate of Competency recognized by IMO STCW Convention). Relevant AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree or overseas equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role. At least 2 - 3 years' seagoing experience sailing on dry bulk carriers and/or minimum 2-3 years' experience undertaking draft surveys, hold cleanliness inspections, bunker surveys and on/off hire condition surveys. Experience sailing onboard Bulk Carriers & Container Vessels. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to solve problems and assess risks.
