You must be able to clip and scissor across all breeds unassisted.Job DescriptionHealth, Safety and WellbeingActively implement OH&S requirementsEnsure salon team members are working in a safe manner and address any non-complianceTake reasonable care for own health and safety while at work and take reasonable care that acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of team, customers and/or their petsReport and escalate any hazards or potential hazards to the Store ManagerComplete Incident reportsCustomer ServiceDeliver a high standard of customer service and service excellenceMake every effort to understand the features and benefits of products and services offered by Petbarn and be able to explain them clearly to customersEnsure a prompt response to bookings/enquiries made by phoneEnsure customer complaints are dealt with in a professional, empathetic, helpful and expedient mannerInform the Store Manager and Area Manager of more serious customer complaints and assist in resolvingLead the salon team in delivering promotional activities and local marketing campaignsActively encourage rebooking and promotion of our servicesOperational ManagementOpening and closing of the salonRostering salon team members in consultation with the Store ManagerManage and drive the financial performance of the salon in line with targets and objectivesManaging salon team members performance with assistance from the Store Manager as required.Take bookings and manage the CHS Vet booking systemEnsuring online booking settings are appropriate to the level and skill of the team rosteredQuoting, Invoicing and maintaining customer recordsOrdering of consumablesMaintenance and care of equipment within the salonEnsuring equipment is only used for its designed and intended purpose in line with SOP’sReviewing reports and results and implementing plans to address poor performanceTraining and KnowledgeHave a thorough knowledge of company products, prices and services, including those we sell on the retail floorComplete all training assigned including ‘The Cage’ assigned training within timeframes agreed with Store ManagerProvide training and coaching to salon team membersGeneral HousekeepingMaintain a high standard of housekeepingImplement hygiene practices and cleaning procedures as per company policyGrooming ServicesComplete all grooming services on offerEnsure all grooms completed within the salon are of high quality and the correct techniques have been applied relative to the breed type and service typeComplete consultations to understand the wants, needs and desires of the customer and discuss the right grooming solution for the dog including additional treatmentsApply product and breed knowledge to achieve the best outcomes for the customerModify grooming techniques to accommodate breed type, age or medical conditionsOrganise and delegate grooming tasks appropriate to the grooming teamManage time effectively to ensure all pets are groomed to the customer’s specifications by the pickup timeAnimal CareResponsible for the safety and wellbeing of all pets within the salonComply with the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Code of PracticeClean and disinfect animal enclosures and excretionsMonitor the behaviour for animals in the salon and dealing with difficult/aggressive dogsCommunicate any concerns or potential health risks identified during the grooming process to the customerGeneralCarry out other duties as directed by the Store Manager, Area Manager or Support OfficeEnsure all relevant policies and procedures are implemented successfully and adhered toAction emails and daily communications.Assist with recruitment and trialsFoster a culture of teamworkQualificationsAt least 1 years’ experience in grooming and clipping across all breeds of dogs in a salon environmentStrong customer service approach with excellent handling skillsDog breed knowledgeConfident and personable nature that will allow you to contribute to an already high growth businessAs part of this process you will be asked to complete a two-hour grooming trial and a police check.Salary for the role ranges between $72,000 and $74,000 plus super.
