Are you a postdoctoral researcher with experience conducting qualitative research and an interest in better understanding how climate change will impact our health? Join our Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing team on projects that bring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and science together with western science.
As part of our Elder- and community-led projects, you will coordinate and undertake detailed community engagement processes, and qualitative data collection, analysis, and translation activities for the WA arm of the HEAL Network.
Some of your tasks will include:
Develop and implement qualitative research including protocols, ethics and engagement with community.Work with community and service partners to develop and co-design strategies to improve outcomes.Plan and manage project activities, meetings, community forums, team presentations and travel arrangements.Prepare and disseminate project information and outputs, including taking on an active role in annual and community reports and articles for publication in academic journals.Based in Nedlands, this position is being offered part time (0.4FTE) for 2 years.

The key to your success will be your demonstrated skills in:
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and the ability to work with Aboriginal and culturally diverse people.Experience in qualitative research (particularly using participatory or Indigenous research methods) or mixed methods research.Experience in climate change and health research would be an advantage.Demonstrated experience in managing data and qualitative data analysis.Demonstrated capacity to work with communities (in particular Aboriginal communities) to understand and respond to their needs.Ability to employ critical reflection and strategic thinking in working with multiple stakeholders.We are driving inclusion and diversity as part of the way we work and embrace the diverse career and life experiences of our staff.
