We are seeking two passionate hospital pharmacists to join our team and advance their knowledge and skills by undertaking our Registrar Training Programs specialising in either Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases or Medication Safety.
This is a two year structured program with a minimum 18 months in Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases or Medication Safety and an option for a 6 month breadth rotation.
On completion of the training program, you will meet the requirements for The Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) Registrar level recognition in your chosen specialty and continue as part of the Monash Health Pharmacy team.
There will be further opportunities to specialise, and also access to our internal grade review process to acknowledge your skills and experience level.
The Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases or Medication Safety teams work across all of the Monash Health sites including Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital, and Moorabbin Hospital.
Your 2 year training program will be completed onsite, where you will have opportunities to work at a number of these sites to give you a broad exposure to different patient cohorts.
An optional 6 month breadth rotation in a related specialty area can also be considered.
There is an opportunity to join the pharmacy team prior to the training program commencement for orientation and training.
Day in the Life
You will be supported by our enthusiastic Pharmacy Education Team and dedicated, experienced mentors for the duration of the training program.
Together with your mentor, you will complete the program to support your progression to an ANZCAP Registrar level practitioner in the area of General Medicine and support your ongoing development in leadership, education and research.
In this important role you will:
Provide best practice pharmacy services and exceptional patient-centred care through the provision of medicines and medication advice safely and professionally to a variety of clients and settings.Provide pharmacy services as part of pharmacy and interprofessional teams in a range of pharmacy practice settings and Monash Health sites.Grow your research experience and skills through developing and leading a quality improvement research project with the support of your supervisors, and submit your manuscript for publication.Actively participate in pharmacy and multidisciplinary committees, review and develop guidelines, contribute to the design and delivery of education sessions and develop a workplace program.Progress your line management and performance management skills through various opportunities incorporated throughout the training program.Further enhance your knowledge with attendance at conferences and/or seminars every year.Complete the Registrar Training Program within 2 years.Pharmacists work an 8-hour shift per day, Monday to Friday, plus some rostered overtime including weekends, late shift and public holidays.

You are a role model, thrive working in a dynamic environment and are truly passionate about delivering best practice pharmacy services to all patients, carers and health care professionals.
You can also demonstrate:
3-7 years of hospital experience, performing at ANZCAP Resident level or equivalentANZCAP Resident level is defined as completing a SHPA Foundation Residency, or equivalent experience, (at least 2 years post-registration hospital pharmacy experience, in an environment that provides suitable broad foundation experience i.e.
in a rotational or generalist position).Pharmacists with more than 7 years of experience may be suitable if they are moving into a defined or specialised area of practice.Commitment to continued professional development and education.Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist.In return
You will be supported through the Registrar Training Program by our team of pharmacy clinical educators and mentors.
