Auditor
Location - Parramatta
2 Full Time Positions for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension
Salary - $110,265 -$122,057 + employer superannuation contribution
Your role
This role will undertake audit verification activities in relation to contractor performance under the maintenance contract, including reviewing contractor policies, procedures, records, and systems in order to appraise the effectiveness by which the contractors meet their obligations under the maintenance contract.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Senior Auditor, the responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):
* Planning and executing audit assignments
* Coaching staff throughout the audit/review with the view to ensuring conformity with applicable policy and procedures in all phases of the audit process
* Documenting, evaluating and testing manual and automated systems and controls to determine their existence, adequacy, effectiveness and continuity, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of operations (including accomplishment of management objectives), compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, policies and procedures, reliability and integrity of information and safeguarding of assets
* Preparing working papers for review by the Senior Auditor and developing and discussing findings, recommendations and timelines for corrective action with responsible officer of audited operations and monitoring the implementation status of agreed recommendations
* Presenting audit results to management, either of Housing Portfolio or of the audited contractor
* Monitoring the status of audit recommendations and appraising the adequacy of follow-up actions taken on audit findings and recommendations
What we're looking for
Essential Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
* Capacity to use computer-aided auditing techniques (CAAT) as well as traditional auditing methods
In addition to the essential requirements, the successful candidate will have:
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail
* The ability to work within a team and autonomously
* A professional demeanour and the ability to adapt to different stakeholders
* Strong work ethic with the ability to work within tight deadlines
