The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24 hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services.
Your Position at St John of God Geelong Hospital
You will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and the co-ordination and supervision of care delivered by junior staff and students within Critical Care.
We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified, Registered Nurses to join our highly skilled and multi-disciplinary Cardiac Care Unit. The Cardiac Care Unit offers extensive medical and surgical cardiac services to a varied patient group, specializing in elective procedures, with a Cath lab focusing on coronary diagnostics and interventions, electrophysiology studies, and device implantations.
There are multiple Full time, Part time and Casual positions available, hours will be negotiated with successful candidate(s).
The Position
* Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and Care Paths.
* Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
* Maintains and promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective teamwork, between staff, patients, relatives, doctors and ancillary staff.
* Assists and collaborates with team members in the assessment of allocated patients.
* Communicates effectively with all members of the care team and reports changes in patients' status to appropriate personnel.
* Initiates discharge planning on patients' admission to ensure appropriate use of all resources and that the patient/family are well prepared for discharge.
* Ensures Infection Management policies and procedures are available to all staff and adhered to and implemented.
You will have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and recent clinical experience within Cardiac Care.

The Benefits:
* Salary: $67,087 - $94,754 (pro rata for part time) + 11% superannuation
* Hourly Rate: $42.30 - $59.75 per hour (including casual loading) + 11% superannuation
