About the Role
The Department is seeking experienced First Nations leaders to head key branches within the First Nations Health Division.
These roles require dynamic leaders to amplify First Nations voices, consult with stakeholders, and address care needs while fostering collaboration and trust.
As Assistant Secretary, you will lead teams, manage complex change, and build strong relationships.
Key Duties
Lead policy development and review activities in one or more areas of policy.
Provide expert advice in one or more areas of policy.
Analyse policy options and prepare material to support policy decisions.
Consult on policy options and incorporate stakeholder feedback.

The influence to take forward the Government's policy and regulatory agenda with the intelligence, persuasiveness, professionalism, authenticity and credibility necessary to leverage both formal and informal authority.
A demonstrated commitment to values-based leadership that inspires, empowers and develops people and drives positive outcomes.
Demonstrated skills in communicating with technical and general audiences, engaging with senior public and private sector stakeholders and building and sustaining relationships in a complex environment.
The ability to contribute to and communicate the strategic direction of the Department.
Experience in leading large, dispersed teams.
To be successful in this role, the individual will need to be self-motivated and have a strong ability to make connections between work streams and the overall PSMB Program.
They will also need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, excellent writing skills, and attention to detail of a high order.
