Task & Responsibilities Develop and plan menus that reflect the restaurant’s culinary vision, accurately estimate food and labor costs, and efficiently manage stock by ordering necessary ingredients and supplies. Oversee the quality of dishes during all stages of preparation and presentation, providing feedback and guidance to the kitchen team to ensure consistency and excellence. Actively collaborate with Managers, Dietitians, and staff to address food preparation, dietary requirements, and any special requests from customers. Lead by example, demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and participating in the preparation and cooking of dishes during service. Ensure strict compliance with hygiene and safety regulations, enforcing food safety standards among kitchen staff and maintaining a clean work environment. Participate in selecting and training new kitchen staff, offering hands-on guidance in cooking procedures, food safety, and kitchen management. Preserve and store food items as required, including freezing ingredients, to maintain freshness and extend shelf life. Qualification & Experience Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery is essential. A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Chef in a high-volume, professional kitchen. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring compliance with all standards. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills, demonstrating the ability to manage kitchen operations and communicate effectively with staff. Ability to handle menu planning, cost estimation, and inventory management to support smooth kitchen operations.
