Looking for a Disability Support Worker to bring their artistic expertise to our Boonah Creative Art Centre at West Pymble. About the role CatholicCare provides a comprehensive range of individual and group programs for those with disability. We are currently seeking a Disability Support Worker for our program called Boonah. Boonah is an Art Studio run specifically to meet the needs of artists living with a disability. We are currently seeking a highly engaging Disability Support Worker to deliver person-centred care and art activities to participants. You will be implementing participant’s goals to ensure that their activities incorporate what is important for them and what is important to them. You will be providing active support which can include from time-to-time personal care, mobility support and more. This is a Permanent Part Time opportunity, required for 3 days per week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 3:30pm. Duties Support program participants through the creative process of artwork development of high standard. Interact positively with participants, families, carers, and stakeholders. Undertake all required aspects of participant’s personal care. Make decisions using sound judgement to support and advocate for the participant. Accompany participants on excursions or outings. Assist the participants to implement their personal and art-based goals. Ensure familiarity with the participant’s profile and always carry their emergency plan. Requirements Experience or willingness to work with vulnerable people of all ages. Background in Creative Arts or Art Therapy qualifications. Hold a valid NSW Driver’s licence and insured vehicle. First aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one before commencing). Completing a NDIS Worker Check is a requirement of this position. A working with Children’s check clearance. Completion of the mandatory NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ is required.
