Their operations are based in Acacia Ridge, where they have an impressive facility that combines fabrication, multidisciplinary engineering, electrical & instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
Dedicated field service teams are regionally based to support specified projects throughout Australia.
Job Role: Lead Safety Officer/Advisor
As the Lead Safety Officer/Advisor, you will be responsible for site safety procedures and manufacturing facility safety management.
A genuine self-starter with the ability to operate with autonomy and take ownership of the safety scope from a management and execution perspective to support the operation entirely.
This role is supported by site safety personnel who are project-based, but you will be situated out of the Acacia Ridge facility with some regional site travel required on a 70/30 split.
* Implement HSEQ Systems, Policies and Procedures
* Undertake audits and lead investigations with operational and field staff
* Report & present on findings, and provide corrective actions
* Assist with the development of weekly and monthly HSE statistics
* Develop close and effective working relationships with Operations and Maintenance Teams
* Delivery of some internal Health, Safety and Environment training
* Assist with the injury management and return to work for injured employees
* Work closely and collaboratively with the senior management team
* To abide by and promote the Company's culture of proactive safety & environmental awareness
* Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-changing environment, to work productively with limited supervision
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:
* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
* Very strong MS Office Suite skills and other software packages
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships throughout all levels of the business
* Knowledge and understanding of OHS Legislative Framework
* Minimum Certificate IV WH&S qualifications are essential
* A Diploma in WH&S is desirable
* Certificate IV Training & Assessment will be highly regarded
