hours, working remotely, part-time work, or job sharing.Permanent roleSydney basedHow will I help?The Service Owner, Data Platforms, (Finance & Regulatory Reporting) will lead and enable the effective design, build, and implementation of data products, solutions, and analytical services for the Finance & Regulatory functions within Westpac's Group Business Units (GBU).This role will focus on the delivery of UNITE program objectives within the FinReg portfolio.The Service Owner leads the customer engagement needed to enable great service for current and future needs of the GBU business divisions aligned to data strategy guidelines and change delivery, operational and risk management policies and practices.Candidates with strong data delivery experience, leadership, hands-on attitude, relationship management skills, and agile mindset in a complex technology delivery and operations environment would best suit this position.Role responsibilities include:Drive engagement, roadmap, and backlog management in consultation with Data Platforms LoB Head Of, Business teams, Technology, Risk, and Partner resources.Hands-on agile management to define goals, outcomes, and achievable backlogs, release and sprint plans, including interdependencies, delivery and delivered risks.Ensure conformance of projects/programs to the required data governance, controls, and management principles, frameworks, and standards.Solution Design – accountable for ensuring that the solution is easily understood, communicated, and fit for purpose.Build quality outcomes into the end-to-end process to ensure that the solution is appropriately tested and meets business outcomes.Release management – manage and coordinate the release management team.Operational Support – ensure the team delivers reliable, stable, and operationally sound applications and services.Financial budgets management of data portfolio initiatives and costs optimisation based on solution efficiency to achieve targets.Participate in key forums (Scrum of Scrums / Working groups) as necessary to drive optimal delivery and cadence across squads.Lead continuous optimisation and efficiencies in delivery of data solutions and processes.Talent and resource management of up to 14 people across various Westpac and vendor staff including offshore team members.Provide visibility and reporting of the Finance Regulatory portfolio to senior leadership as required.Utilise strong influencing and stakeholder management skills to promote strong data best practices, principles, standards, and understanding across the organisation.Engagement with LOB Heads and delegate(s), Line of business, business SMEs, and wider Data Platforms community to identify potential synergies of data delivery across domains and source high value data for enabling data products.Coach the team and individuals to ensure success.Maintain communication channels and establish effective relationships with senior management and their teams across all business and Technology teams.Strong negotiation and influencing skills to drive discussions and effective outcomes.Must communicate with confidence, care, and genuine interest.Take personal responsibility for delighting customers and building trust and loyalty.What do I need?Strong interpersonal skills in working with Senior Stakeholders in driving strategic data programs.Strong data capability and agile delivery experience, including hands-on scrum team leadership.Mastery skills in data flow design, solutions, controls, and simplification (both technical and business).Strong team and people management and leadership skills.Excellent communication at all levels.Strong risk management skills.Good understanding of Banking / Finance / Regulatory Reporting related functions.Experience with large matrix organisation skills and the ability to make sense of how business units work together.Experience working with resource partners (onshore /
