This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.Purpose of the Role:To organise logistic activities (international shipments, local shipments, and custom clearances) by selecting carriers and negotiating the logistic contracts and rates with key stakeholders in order to facilitate the efficient deliveries to their destinations.Qualifications:Tertiary Qualifications in Business Management or related disciplineWhite CardExperience:Minimum 10 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferredExperience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects worksExperience in Microsoft Office suite and SAP systemsSound knowledge of construction materials and strong experience within the heavy construction industrySound understanding of local and international import/export legislation or requirementsSound understanding of the NSW Government Procurement GuidelinesSolid understanding of logistics and inventory management.Adequate knowledge about Inbound and outbound logistics/transportation and Supply Chain activitiesAdequate knowledge of IncotermsKnowledge of the main technologies and products used in the Company business sector (Hydro, Tunnelling, etc)Robust knowledge of specific technicalities of transport: means of transportation, loading/unloading, packaging, customs, documentation, fiscal elements, normativesLanguage: fluent English mandatory; an additional language constitutes an advantageA strong commitment to a team-based environmentStrong problem-solving abilityWell-developed time management skillsSolid technical writing and communication skills.Good understanding of financial accounting conceptsExcellent vendor communication skills and a commitment to meeting corporate deadlinesExceptional attention to detailCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities:Proven experience working as a senior buyer in similar complex working environmentPlanning and monitoring inbound and outbound deliveries.Analysing budget, evaluating budget and processing shipments.Working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.Identify and implement solutions to problems, evaluating different alternatives and considering risks, costs/benefits.Manage independently all actions of checking and monitoring shipments, solving possible issues (commercial, administrative, documental, logistic, etc)Relate positively and constructively with all other Jobsite functions, both in daily operative terms and in general process/flow/roles termsProvide structured operative updates and reportsNumerical analysis and reporting as instructed by managerThe above listed authorities & responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.As an employee you will be eligible to participate in a number of additional employee benefits.
