This NSW Government department is committed to delivering exceptional service to communities across the state. They are currently seeking Payroll Officers to join their team, focusing on workers' compensation processing.
The role offers an immediate start for a 10-week period, with a strong possibility of extension. Please note, the position is based in Sydney Olympic Park.
The successful candidate will need to be on-site 5 days a week initially for training which will be anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks. Thereafter, you will be expected to work in the office on Thursdays and Fridays.
The Job
Reporting to the Payroll Manager your role will involve:
* Manage Workers Compensation Payroll and other payroll tasks, including advising staff on timesheet completion and payroll requests.
* Respond to general enquiries confidentially and with a customer focus.
* Support roster, time, and attendance management using various systems.
* Accurately record and track enquiries, requests, and resolutions.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure timely and accurate roster data entry for payroll processing.
* Contribute to quality initiatives for consistent and high-level service delivery.
You
To be successful in this role you will have/be able to:
* Minimum 12 months payroll experience in a large organisation.
* Interpret and apply regulations, awards, and agreements or manage key staffing needs.
* Deliver high-level payroll/rostering support in high-pressure environments.
* Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues proactively.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
* Professional and ethical approach, maintaining strict confidentiality.
