About the role We are currently seeking multiple Signalling Construction Managers to expand our railway signalling capability across NSW and WA. Based in Sydney or Perth, you will work as part of a multi skilled team to deliver various rail projects within Australia. The purpose of this role is to lead the conversion and design elements of a project to ensure the delivery of the overall project scope within the time, cost, quality, and safety requirements. Key responsibilities Provide support to the Project Manager/ Project Leader to ensure client expectations are managed. Day to day management of all authorities and utilities interactions across the various phases of the project Develop with the PL and PEL an overall design procurement strategy to ensure consultants selected truly understand the key project drivers and can respond accordingly. Engage cost planners as required to develop an overall cost plan for the project then work with them to develop the design in accordance with the project budget. Support the PM/ PL in developing an overall conversion program including project issues that relate to revenue, the client, authorities, design, procurement and delivery of the project. Identify and understand key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project to optimise Laing O'Rourke position. Prepare the overall project client reporting documentation in a PCG format and attend PCG meetings. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with the client quality requirements and Australian standards / codes. About you Degree in Engineering is preferred with a focus on (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Construction Management or equivalent. Experience in delivering projects with multi- stakeholder interfaces. Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Rail Signalling sector Knowledge of Railway Engineering standards & specifications Knowledge of modern signalling technology Knowledge of Signalling Principles Exposure to managing teams for delivery phase of construction. Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, commercial acumen. Ability to communicate on all levels – Directors to operatives and understand the importance of relationships.
