Your role at St John of God Healthcare at Home We are seeking applications for a Registered Midwife / Lactation Consultant to join our Healthcare at Home team, on a casual basis.
The Midwife/Lactation Consultant provides all necessary nursing care based on careful assessment of the patients' progress during the ante and post-natal and confinement stages.
This includes providing instruction and information to parents and significant others and encouraging normal parent/child relationships.
The Position The midwife is responsible for providing the necessary care to meet the identified needs of a patient.
Interview and examine the patient (mother and or baby(s) and document the assessment findings and interventions applied.
Whilst promoting an environment of confidence, confidentiality and respect, identify through discussion with the patient, family and relevant others, actual and potential problems.
Assess and document the anticipated needs of the patient during and following the episode of care.
Perform all planned and required nursing care, setting priorities and reestablishing priorities in changing circumstances.
Routinely review the results of diagnostic procedures and investigations.
Systematically evaluate and document the outcomes of nursing/medical interventions and report significant findings promptly.
To succeed you will have a certificate in Lactation Consulting along with recent experience working in a similar position.
In addition, you will have a commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Successful applicants must be registered as a Registered Midwife with the Midwifery & Nursing Board of Australia (AHRA), hold a valid WA drivers licence and National Police Clearence.
