Company OverviewBased in Melbourne’s North, our client is a specialist Food Manufacturing business with a long history ofproducinga broad range of products for the Australian market.Throughout its long history, the company has experienced exceptional growth and has built a strong reputation for high-quality, innovative products and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.The RoleAn opportunity has recently been created for a Senior Food Technologist to join the business and lead the development and innovation of new products across multiple categories, in collaboration with the broader Product Development team.Key Responsibilities Include:Overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, including raw material sourcing, hands-on development, trials, and product launchesServing as an expert on product and process to address product troubleshooting and stakeholder enquiriesManaging the design and execution of testing for new productsLeading and training new and up-and-coming team members and providing ongoing supportCoordinating and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and deliveryProactively identifying opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and operational improvementsSkills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will be an experienced Food Technologist with 6+ years’ experience in R&D/NPD roles and at least 2 years in a Senior Product Development role within Food Manufacturing or FMCG Manufacturing environmentsA Bachelor of Science, majoring in Food Science/Food Technology, or equivalent qualificationsExperience in product categories such as sauces, mayonnaise, condiments, dry powders and liquid blending is desirableProven experience in leading and managing product development projects, demonstrating a successful track record of product launches and driving innovation within the food manufacturing industryStrong project management skills, including leadership of cross-functional teams and the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within scopeIn-depth knowledge of FSANZ, HACCP, GMP, and SQF programs and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to ensure complianceSolid leadership capability with a focus on leading by example, mentoring and providing clear direction for junior staffFor More InformationFor a confidential discussion about this role and what it could offer you in the next stage of your career, please contact Zoe Allan on 0417 558 531 or via zoe@millerleith.com.au.
