As an officer of the Court, you'll be required to adhere to legal and professional ethical obligations in carrying out the role's legal advisory functions.Your success is dependent on using your problem solving skills and legal judgment, with a strong understanding of our clients, as well as the external commercial, legal and regulatory environment.You'll think commercially and strategically and generate solutions to assist your internal clients' initiatives to move forward successfully.What you'll deliver with us? Reporting to the Head of Legal ('People & Culture – P&C', 'Network Operations', 'Community, Sustainability, & Stakeholder Engagement - CS&SE' ), you will be responsible for:- A broad range of employment and workplace relations matters, including recruitment, performance management, reward and remuneration, termination of employment, managing ill and injured employees, serious workplace investigations (e.g.investigation of serious misconduct, harassment, discrimination, bullying, etc), redundancy, abandonment of employment, interpretation/ application of internal policies/procedures, and interpretation/ application of recent and upcoming legislative amendments IR matters including interpretation and application of terms in EAs and awards, responding to industrial action, right of entry, and consultation requirements Discrimination law matters and managing complaints, conciliations, and litigation related to job applicants, employees, customers, and the public Employment, industrial relations, and discrimination litigation in a range of jurisdictions (FWC; Magistrates Court; Supreme Courts, Federal Court, State IRCs).Claims commonly dealt with include unfair dismissals; general protections; breach of contract claims; disputes arising under EAs or in connection with industrial action and enterprise bargaining Employment, industrial relations, and discrimination aspects of enterprise strategic projects, including simplification, modernisation, workplace change; M&A and corporate restructuring, and significant policy changes A range of employment-related documentation, including employment contracts, policies, and settlement and release agreements/deeds Employment and workplace relations issues arising in connection with Australia Post's extended workforce, including licensees and contractors, including sham contracting and compliance with obligations under workplace laws Other commercial and ad hoc legal advice as and when required to support our Network Operations and CS&SE business units About you ?
