THE OPPORTUNITY The Manager of Property Projects and Delivery will be responsible for managing complex property related projects, with an emphasis on construction, refurbishment and fit out within time, budget and quality standards, both overseas and within Australia. You will formulate project plans, provide oversight and direction throughout the project from concept design to completion and have the ability to foster and maintain close working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will have strong representation, engagement and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain a network of internal and external partners and resources across the AIC, Government and industry, coupled with effective written communication skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Under limited direction, undertake project planning, identifying key deliverables; Develop, monitor and track the project plan, including the project schedule, budget and risks; Provide appropriate direction, leadership and development to team members, including advice and support; Manage key stakeholders, ensuring regular communications is provided; Undertake complex procurement activities (including tenders) in line with Government policies and procedures; Have well-developed written, oral and computer literacy skills; Adhere to WH&S requirements; Pursue and maintain effective relationships with counterparts internally, in particular with Security, IMT, the Property Strategy team and also externally with relevant AIC agencies, DFAT, other customer agencies and external suppliers; Lead a team and manage team resources, including people, finance and equipment/technology, in accordance with WHS and ASIS Policy; Working with line managers, assist with the development, coaching, mentoring and performance management of project team members, and the identification of their training needs; Provide reporting and advice to senior management and other staff; and represent the Service across government and internationally, as appropriate. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded: An understanding of contemporary public-sector procurement processes; An understanding of relevant construction security principles and standards; Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications particularly in a related field such as project management, property/estate management, architecture, design, construction management, drafting etc., and/or a background as a qualified tradesperson, is desirable.
