As the Service Development Lead you will lead the project, initiatives and activity for key service contracts within the Emergency Stream, focusing on strategic planning, contract management, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration. The role ensures successful delivery of the Ambulance Service Agreement (ASA) with the Western Australian Government and drives initiatives from conception to implementation, aligning with St John WA’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Quality, and Accountability. This is a permanent full-time role based in the Belmont State Office working Monday through to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm and reporting into the Manager, Emergency Management. What you’ll do: Ensure service development key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved to the required performance standard as determined by line manager. Lead the successful completion and implementation of both small and large initiatives required by the ASA. Conduct research, design, and develop key documentation for major operational initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, compliance with contractual obligations, and alignment with NSQHS standards. Support the General Manager – Clinical and Operational Excellence and other senior leaders by interpreting strategy, developing concepts, and executing plans, both within the ASA and externally. Collaborate closely with operational and support services stakeholders at all levels to gather qualitative and quantitative data and information, ensuring it informs the approach, input, analysis, interpretation, and implementation for service delivery. Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational portfolios within the Emergency Stream. Lead complex problem-solving initiatives in collaboration with relevant subject matter experts and support teams across the organisation. Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery and foster effective collaboration. Lead and oversee service development initiatives from inception through to planning and delivery. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to ensure successful outcomes and alignment with business objectives. Coordinate cross-functional teams, resources, and stakeholders to achieve project goals and deliver results and meet timeframes. Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure initiatives align with strategic goals and deliver value to the community. Maintain and continually enhance internal and external communication methods, including the intranet, shared folders, Teams channels, and other relevant Emergency Stream resources. Ensure clear, transparent, and effective communication channels to support operational efficiency and foster strong stakeholder engagement. What you’ll need: Proven experience in project management, analysis, performance improvement, and/or operational roles. Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business Management or related discipline (desirable). Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts. High-level written and interpersonal communication skills with experience working collaboratively with diverse groups. Proven experience in leading and coordinating projects, managing competing priorities, and delivering on milestones concurrently. Demonstrated administration skills, including the design and development of documentation, systems, and processes to drive efficiency and organisational effectiveness. Ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of the organisation’s mission and strategy. Strong systems proficiency in Microsoft Office and BI software with an understanding of reporting and compliance within a regulated environment (desirable). What’s in it for you?
