Kempe Engineering is currently seeking to employ full-time Boilermakers/Welders to work in our Tasmanian workshop. As part of this role you will be expected to also work on our client sites undertaking maintenance and sustainable capital works on fixed plant. SKILLS • Interpret fabrication drawings and specifications Cutting, shaping and bending metal sections using various hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal machineryJoin aligning parts by using hand and measuring equipmentBolt, rivet and weld metal sections togetherBe able to examine and review welds (specifically width of bead, penetration and precision)Use various methods (filing polishing, chiselling, and grinding) to clean/smooth welds and finish products QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Recognized trade qualifications in Boiler making/Fabrication having completed an apprenticeship Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on sites either heavy industry or miningMeet ZERO Harm culture and behavioursWill be required to live in remote regionsExperience in leadership Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and present fit for workA current driver license All suitably qualified and experienced candidates will be considered. Kempe Engineering will also consider sponsoring applicants under the TSS 482 or 494 Visa Program. Salary range will be between AUD $75,000 and AUD $85,000.
