Treasurer – Interfaith Network of the City of Greater Dandenong (Voluntary) About Us The Interfaith Network of the City of Greater Dandenong (IFN) is Australia’s oldest interfaith network, dedicated to fostering unity and understanding among diverse faith communities. We offer programs such as Places of Worship Tours, educational events, and community engagement initiatives to promote respect and harmony within the City of Greater Dandenong. About the Role IFN is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our team as Treasurer. This voluntary position is a vital leadership role on the Executive Committee, overseeing the financial management of the organisation and contributing to strategic planning. Key Responsibilities As Treasurer, you will: Provide oversight of finances and financial controls for a charitable organisation. Explore revenue opportunities to help expand IFN’s reach within the community. Actively participate in compliance, risk management, strategic planning, and budgeting. Lead the Finance, Risk, and Audit Management (FARM) Committee. Work closely with the Executive Officer and external auditors to prepare key financial documents, including the annual report. Support fellow Executive Committee members in understanding the implications of financial data. Requirements and Qualifications Professional accounting qualifications. Prior experience serving as a Treasurer on not-for-profit boards is preferred. Commitment of approximately 4 hours per month, including attendance at bimonthly Executive Committee meetings. Current Working With Children Certificate and Police Check (in line with Child Safe practices). Training in Child Safe practices will be provided. Why Join Us?
