About the Opportunity
Our company is currently seeking a Principal Water Process Engineer to join our Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Team. As the Principal Water Process Engineer, you will be responsible working as part of a team to provide project and design management services to the clients in the Water sector. The Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Section works on long term framework agreements with major clients based across NSW, as well as regularly collaborating with our teams nationally and working with interstate clients, including Queensland Urban Utilities, Water Corporation WA, and SA Water amongst others.
You will also get the opportunity to work on projects internationally and connect to Global Industry leaders and experts. To be successful in this role, you must have extensive experience Project Managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects, as well as being able to coordinate with other disciplines to ensure the design achieves the client’s intent.
Here's what you'll need
As Principal Water Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
· Providing consultancy services in the Water Infrastructure market across the ANZ region.
· Responsibility for project delivery, client relationship management, and technical leadership throughout ANZ.
· You will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, operational management, sales and technical leaders to create strategies, pursue opportunities and to plan, develop and deliver a range of projects to achieve successful technical and commercial outcomes.
· You will support the management of the NSW Water Infrastructure Section and the wider ANZ water group in terms of team development, mentoring and growth, building technical capability and growing the water infrastructure portfolio.
· You will be a technical and project lead for water infrastructure design projects, as well as providing technical guidance on large strategic consulting and planning projects.
· You will keep abreast of new methods, technologies and developments impacting the industry, Jacobs and our clients in order to contribute to the strategic direction of the group.
· You will facilitate Jacobs in maintaining a competitive advantage by identifying strategic pursuits and applying the latest technical developments in project delivery.
· You will drive business development and be responsible for work winning activities including client engagement, opportunity ‘go no go’ assessments, supporting bids and proposals and commercial negotiations. Through regular industry participation you will maintain and grow strong client relationships, identify emerging opportunities, act as a trusted advisor to a select group of key clients and represent the Water Infrastructure team at thought leadership events.
· You will help maintain compliance with Jacobs QA/QC procedures, including deliverable reviews, commercial reviews and contractual administration.
· You will facilitate the technical development of less senior personnel to meet market requirements and engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.
· You will have an uncompromising approach to safety and welfare, you will lead and support safety initiatives and drive Jacobs Beyond Zero culture of caring and implement Jacobs shared values.
· You will support the Jacobs water group to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationship building and work sharing in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.
About you:
· You will have a relevant engineering degree (or equivalent).
· You will have excellent technical knowledge and strong proven experience in water Infrastructure.
· You will have extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.
· You will be an excellent multidisciplinary integrator with a broad understanding of all the relevant disciplines that work together to plan, design and manage water infrastructure projects.
· You will have a strong track record with client relationships, and demonstrated ability to find, bid, win, and deliver water infrastructure projects.
· Successful candidates will have an inclusive mindset, enjoy collaborating across geographies as part of diverse teams, as well as the ability and willingness to guide and mentor team members. You should be open-minded and willing to adapt with change and transformation.
