About the roleReporting to the Health, Safety and Wellness Manager, this role is responsible for managing the Self Insurance License in South Australia.
Additionally, it is responsible for championing and supporting the development and implementation of effective injury management strategies and processes, including proactive wellness programs.Direct responsibility for the provision of injury management/workers compensation nationally and maintaining the integrity of the self-insurance license in South Australia.Implement strategies for the continuous improvement of self-insurance in SA.Development of operational policy and the implementation and management of TW's early intervention and return to work programs.Develop and participate in proactive strategies designed to minimize the duration of incapacity through the promotion of early return-to-work initiatives and recovery at work.Review and analyze injury trends to assist in developing proactive injury prevention strategies.Educate stakeholders on the importance of projects or initiatives that contribute to the reduction of injury frequency rates, injury prevention, and improved health outcomes.Manage pre-employment medicals and workplace assessments.Provide expert advice on injury prevention and management, supporting HSW and injury management teams while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices and legislative requirements.About youWith proven experience in all aspects of self-insurance and injury management/claims management, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the workers compensation scheme and relevant regulatory requirements.
This will complement your excellent written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with workers, managers, and medical providers.Accreditation of Claims Management.Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.Relevant Bachelor degree in an allied health field (Psychologist, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiologist, Registered Nurse) or related field (highly desirable).Cert IV – Train the Trainer (highly desirable).Self-Insurers of South Australia.
