Excellent opportunities exist for experienced and passionate Registered Midwives to join the team – working across the Antenatal and Postnatal ward and Birthing Suites at a private hospital in Newcastle. There are Permanent Full-Time and Part-Time roles available. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Registered Midwife, you will provide high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups. You will plan, assess, implement, and evaluate midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families, and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes. You will work collaboratively with the broader healthcare team to support patient care needs and supervise, direct, and guide junior nurses and undergraduate midwives in providing midwifery care.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife;
2. At least 2 years of relevant post-registration qualifications;
3. Demonstrated experience working in the provision of antenatal and postnatal midwifery services;
4. Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including the development of policies and guidelines;
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team;
6. Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care;
7. Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
8. Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills;
9. Flexibility to a 7-day roster, including night duty.
REMUNERATION
$35.46 - $49.79 per hour. ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Newcastle, is an 189-bed, acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. The Maternity Unit comprises a Birthing Suite, Maternity Ward, and Special Care Nursery. Birthing Suite has 6 rooms on the ground floor, with Croudace Operating Theatres adjacent.
