Our clients are a dynamic and very progressive young farming family who have taken immense pride in developing a 25,000-head lamb feedlot over the last five years. With clear business goals, they are expanding their team to assist in all aspects of the feedlot as they grow the business to the next level. Their team is seeking an experienced tractor operator to assist with feeding and mixing rations. The Role Predominantly driving a tractor and mixing grain for our lamb feedlot and other clients, you would be responsible for recording all grain movements, including all trucks in and out. You would work closely with the manager to monitor stock levels of grain, hay and other products. Monitoring grain levels in lick feeders and refilling as necessary, as well as general farm maintenance, repairing fences, poly pipes, greasing bearings, etc., are all duties you will regularly undertake. Although not a central element of the role, you will also be involved in sheep handling and husbandry as the team requires additional support. Applications are encouraged from experienced applicants with great attention to detail, good tractor driving skills, general farm maintenance (mechanical, fencing, water lines, etc.), and a great attitude to work and life. This role will provide a lot of variety and progression opportunities for the right candidates. The ideal candidate would have a good general knowledge of farm machinery and the ability to fix minor issues and service machinery, having your own tools is a bonus but not essential. The larger centre of Horsham is approximately 45 minute’s drive from the Feedlot and provides a wide variety of services and partner employment opportunities.
