About Us - Baker's Delight Katoomba is your go-to destination for fresh, delicious baked goods in the heart of the Blue Mountains.We pride ourselves on our range of artisan bread, pastries, and specialty items, all made with high-quality ingredients and traditional baking techniques.Our friendly team is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and ensuring you leave with a smile and a tasty treat.The Role - Bakers Delight is looking for a pastry cook who can oversee the restaurant's kitchen by managing other members of the food preparation team, deciding what dishes to serve, and adjusting orders to meet guests' requests.Duties:checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulationschecking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredientskneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goodspreparing pastry fillingsmonitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking timescoordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry productsglazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icingoperating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuitsemptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment Qualifications and Requirements:AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IVRelvant qualifications required, however 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualificationsHave at least 3 years of experience as a pastry cookPlanning menu and creating new dishesEnsure quality products are prepared and presentedManage kitchen including training staff when neededHave experience in upholding the proper health and safety requirements in the kitchen Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
