About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned warehouse and logistics expert for a 3 month continuous improvement project for a leading motor manufacturing company. In this role your expertise will be pivotal in driving efficiency and optimising warehouse operations.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Investigates, recommends, implements and reviews agreed systems, processes, and supply chain procedures consistent with set policies in order to achieve National Parts and Accessories operations objectives. Provides specialist advice on and assists managers in the development of policies and standards for transport and operations in order to improve warehousing and logistics performance.
2. Coordinates, implements and monitors multi-phase Project activities to agreed milestones in order to improve warehousing capacities and logistics performance. Coordinates the maintenance & repair of all operational equipment in line with Manufacturers requirements to minimise down time and ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
3. Contributes to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of business systems, processes and controls (including IT) for all warehousing operations, to ensure they are in-line with warehousing best practice in performance and output. Implements new initiatives to support operational cost savings. Conducts training gap analysis.
4. Coordinates and facilitates forums with key stakeholders to ensure that project plans, progress and issues are clearly communicated to all stakeholders and minimise warehousing, delivery, transport and quality issues for the parts and accessories supply chain.
5. Acts as a liaison in relation to process issues, warehousing systems and operations. Resolves complex issues and implements countermeasures, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
Skills & Experience:
6. Over 5 years warehouse and logistics experience, preferably in a consultancy role or demonstrated success in managing CI, optimisation and other projects in supply chain and logistics.
7. Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills with exposure to senior stakeholders
8. Articulate and strong analytical skills
9. Autonomous and work in partnership with others
10. Solutions driven, expert in supply chain and logistics operations preferably with exposure to Supply Chain & Logistics Optimisation, DC Design, Technology (ERP/WMS/TMS), Automation
