Mills Recruitment is seeking an experienced Switchboard Designer/Drafter to join our client, a leading company in the electrical manufacturing industry in Edinburgh, Adelaide.
The Role:Based in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Edinburgh, you will take on complex design assignments, focusing on switchboards and incorporating technical specifications and relevant standards.
Strong investigative and research skills will be essential to your success.
As a Switchboard Designer/Drafter, you will collaborate closely with the Design Manager to deliver projects for clients across a variety of industries, including:
Mining.
Minerals & Metals Processing.
Renewable Energy.
Infrastructure.
Power Generation & Transmission.
Water & Wastewater.
Heavy Industry.
Oil & Gas.
Responsibilities:
Perform CAD design and drafting on distribution boards, motor control centres, control and other panels.
Define and recommend specifications and performance or functional requirements for new projects.
Work to automate repetitive design tasks by using innovative solutions and developing customised design tools in CAD programs and spreadsheets.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement to achieve truly 'Modular' Switchboard design, systems and processes.
Collaborate in reviewing and refining work practices to bring improved efficiencies in design, construction methods and materials usage.
Undertake or assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, surveys and reports, design layouts, specifications, bills of quantities and materials order lists.
Carry out factory inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients or engineers concerning the design, installation, construction and commissioning of assigned work.

About you:
Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical trade qualifications (Highly Desirable).
Experience in Switchboard design, assembly or project engineering.
Experience in Switchroom design (Desirable).
AutoCAD 2018 or later (Essential).
MicroStation (Desirable).
REVIT (Desirable).
