Job Description
The WT Sydney office continues to grow with high-profile new engagements landing across a broad range of sectors and with existing major projects underway and more in the pipeline, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the growing team.
This role will perform various traditional quantity surveying functions including estimating, planning and cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.
This role is responsible for:
2. Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
3. Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
4. Master-plan and feasibility budgets
5. Cost checking of developing design
6. Value engineering
7. Tender evaluations and analysis
8. Contract negotiations
9. Cash flow projects
10. Procurement
11. Cost reporting
12. Evaluation of variations
13. Valuations
14. Final account reporting
15. Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
16. Investment analysis
17. Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans
Qualifications
18. Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
19. Full Australian working rights and currently located in Australia
20. RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
21. Proficient in the use of Cost X
22. A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
23. Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients
24. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a team and control multiple projects/client commissions
