The Head of Sales is responsible for leading and managing the inbound and outbound sales functions, overseeing a small team of two while actively participating in sales activities. This player/coach role focuses on direct sales and coaching team management. The ideal candidate will drive sales growth, set up effective sales functions, and develop strategies to optimize sales efforts. The role involves conducting software demonstrations, owning the sales process, and collaborating internally to scope customer requirements. This role will work closely with the Marketing Manager to align sales and marketing strategies. Primary Responsibilities: Sales Leadership and Strategy: Lead the inbound and outbound sales functions, setting strategies to drive revenue growth. Develop and implement sales plans, tactics, and processes to achieve sales targets, emphasizing outbound sales. Actively participate in sales activities, focusing on closing deals and managing key accounts. Own the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing. Analyze sales metrics and performance data to refine sales strategies. Team Management and Coaching: Manage and coach a small team of two sales representatives, providing guidance, training, and support. Conduct regular sales meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions to enhance team performance. Monitor individual and team KPIs, providing feedback and development opportunities. Engage in direct sales activities, including prospecting, presenting solutions, and closing deals. Conduct software demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers. Develop strong relationships with key customers and maintain a personal pipeline of opportunities. Liaise with internal teams to assist with scoping customer requirements and ensuring seamless communication during the sales process. Collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to align sales efforts with broader company goals and marketing strategies. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and tactics, particularly in outbound sales. Ensure CRM and other sales tools are effectively utilized to track and manage sales activities. Required Qualifications and Experience: Education & Experience: 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years managing a team and demonstrating consistent performance. Proven experience in setting up and managing both inbound and outbound sales functions. Must have experience in SaaS sales and owning the entire sales process. Experience conducting software demonstrations and working with internal teams to scope customer requirements. Experience in logistics, warehouse management, or related industries is a bonus.
