About YouYou've been on the tools and understand what it takes to keep a production team running at its best. You have experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment and can work with everyone from apprentices to senior staff. You're practical, level-headed, and can solve problems on the spot to keep things moving. What You'll Bring:At least 6 years in a production or supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing.High technical knowledge in welding, fabrication and sound knowledge of blasting and painting.Strong leadership skills and experience developing teams.A hands-on approach and the ability to make quick decisions, and be a problem solver.Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvements is a bonus.Comfortable using basic computer systems (Excel, ERP systems) to track production and budgets.Your New RoleAs the Production Manager, your job is to keep things running smoothly on the shop floor. You'll be working closely with the team to make sure production stays on schedule, materials are available when needed, and everyone is working safely and efficiently. Key Areas of ResponsibilityLeading the Production TeamPurpose: To lead, mentor, and develop the production crew, making sure everyone is working to their full potential and staying safe on the job.Responsibilities:Lead the team, from apprentices to senior operators.Keep everyone motivated and performing to their best.Conduct regular check-ins and help develop the skills of your team.Ensure all safety standards are met.Managing Production SchedulesPurpose: To ensure production runs on time and meets customer deadlines while making the best use of resources.Responsibilities:Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer orders.Monitor daily progress and adjust plans if needed.Work with the sales and procurement teams to ensure materials are available when required.Improving OperationsPurpose: To find ways to improve efficiency on the floor and reduce waste while keeping quality high.Responsibilities:Implement lean manufacturing practices.Look for ways to streamline processes and cut down on delays.Ensure all products meet quality standards before leaving the workshop.Managing Budgets and ResourcesPurpose: To manage production costs and make sure the team has what they need to get the job done.Responsibilities:Track and manage the production budgets ie Tooling, Consumables, Resources, Time utilisation.Ensure materials and resources are used efficiently.Report on Production performance to management.Communication and TeamworkPurpose: To ensure clear communication between the production team and other departments.Responsibilities:Work with sales, procurement, and design to keep production aligned with customer needs.Keep the General Manager and other stakeholders updated on production progress.Requirements6+ years of experience in a production management or supervisory role.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.Practical problem-solving abilities.Experience with lean manufacturing is a bonus.Proficiency in basic computer systems (Excel, ERP).How to Apply:LeverageME is honoured to be facilitating the placement of the role.
