THE OPPORTUNITY
Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School, including Ipswich Junior Grammar School, operates a swimming program all year, providing quality coaching for students from Prep - Year 12. Our aspirations are to build the competitiveness of our Junior and Senior School squads, advance young athlete’s swimming careers, and encourage all students to become lifelong swimmers.
As a casual Swimming Instructor, you will support the Head Coach to deliver on these aspirations at all levels, from teaching the foundations in the Junior School curriculum swimming classes through to coaching and supporting our Junior and Secondary School Competition Squads.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
As a Swim Instructor you will be required to deliver high quality instruction and safe swimming lessons to classes and assist within IGGS/IJGS before/after school training.
Your Role:
* Conduct Learn to Swim classes for children aged 4 to 12 years during school hours
* Contribute to the co-ordination and programming of swimming classes to all age and ability groups
* Ensure compliance with the Industry Guidelines and the School’s programs and procedures
* Undertake general cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment when required
* Prepare for the classes, ensuring all required equipment is available and set up in time, as well as the collection and correct storage of equipment once classes have been concluded
* Assist with before and after school squad training as required
What we are looking for:
* Monday to Friday availability (Before, during and after school)
* Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing enriching experiences
Qualifications:
* Austswim or Swim Australia Accreditation
* First Aid Certificate
* Working with Children Suitability Card
* Prior experience in a similar role
